Standard Mode / Transparent Mode

Hi,

I configured a proxy profile for a specific interface (Wireless Guest Network).

I used Transparent mode. This is working fine.

But if I enter the Astaro IP in my browser while I'm on this network, it works as well! Although I didnt configure a Standard Mode profile for this network.

Checking the proxy logs, I realized that the Transparent Profile is used even if i enter the IP into the browser.

Is this behaviour normal? Is AStaro doing an internal redirect from Standard to Transparent mode for this source network?

The easy way to think of this is to consider that the proxy is always listening in "Standard" mode, and that "Transparent" simply adds the ability to "invisibly" capture HTTP/S traffic.

Which specific profile is selected depends only on the source network. There is one exception: if the first profile for the subnet is in "Standard" mode, and there's a subsequent profile (or the global default) for the subnet in "Transparent" mode, then the second/global configuration applies if the browser isn't configured to use the proxy.
