How to remove 1000 URL added to the "Always block these URLs" list?

Hi

I am testing a Gateway 120. 

I added ~1000 URLs to the "Always block these URLs/sites" list under the URL filtering. I did that through the import function. 

One big problem: I was meant to import these to the "Additional URLs/sites to allow" list... 

So now I need to delete these 1000 urls. How do I do that?

Another question would be: In the future how can I manage this long list other than with the web interface.

    Hi,

    I think using such long lists is not useful. 
    Astarao is able to do it, but it is not really the way Astaro is designed for.

    Please think about doing it this way.

    Only use black and white list for a small amount of Sites.

    Use the Contet Filter and the Reputation Filter. This is much better because new websites will belong to one Categorie. 

    To answer your question: 
    You have to klick 1000 times onto the small delete button on the left side of the object.
    The offical way is using webadmin, otherwise you losse support.

    Let me add my voice to Sven's - do not create long lists.  None of my clients has more than a handful of entries in the 'Always allow' list and most have nothing at all in the 'Additional URLs/sites to block' list.

    One client had several hundred sites on a list.  In under an hour, I submitted those to TrustedSource and configured their URL filter with nothing in either the block or allow lists.

    At TrustedSource, you can sign up for a free account and submit your list in blocks of 100.  Select the "SmartFilter XL" database.

    Thank you for your feedback. 

    Unfortunatelly, my client is insisting in using whitelists & blacklists to filter internet access. There is a good reason for this, which I can discuss offline if you think there could be a solution.

    I received this device on loan from Astaro, so I have decided to return it and look for another solution

    Might be worth adding a feature request for this. Long list can be handle. But the way astaro currently does it is not geared toward such long list.

    Whitelisting is something very useful in very lock down network, and is a great security when you can manage it to cover all exceptions.

    More optimized container such as sorted tree / hash table would handle large list efficiently, if implemented by astaro.

    If you could import blacklist in a generic format it would be great, such as the ones supported by I-BlockList | Lists (p2p, dat, cidr format).

    Exactly what is coming with V9? A better handling of these allow/block-lists?

    Looks like I ran into the same problem as the thread starter - I have several thousands of entries in the block list. Imported by the import feature, worked well. But how can I remove them without hitting the trash can symbol of each of these entries? Is there a way to clean the list field with a non-documented button or on OS level?
