We use http/s proxy including ssl scanning in our firewalls. Every now and then we have to make an exeption for ssl scanning to get access to a site. So far so good.
Some users in our company have access to dropbox.com. Most of them use the Dropbox client and that works fine, but one or two only use the web interface. They have the following problem: uploading a single file via dropbox (basic uploader) works fine, but uploading multiple files (enhanced uploader) generates an error. Because of the hint given bij Dropbox (use the latest version of Adobe Flash) our first thought was not Astaro related. But at the end it turned out that the way to get the enhanced uploader to work, was to skip 'ssl scanning' in the proxy exception.
Most peculiar is the fact that at least one pc in the network worked fine without the exception! There are no other exceptions for this pc active on the Astaro (no packet filters, proxy exceptions, etc.). It is also not user related: same user on another pc cannot use the enhanced uploader.
Problem also seems not browser related. Tested it with various browser versions. And different Flash versions.
We use Astaro 8.103.
Question:
- What stops the enhanced uploader from working? And why not on all pc's?
- Is skipping ssl scanning for sites like dropbox advisable?
