asus support site not working with 8.202

after upgrading to the softrelease of 8.202 some sites are partially broken such as the asus support site

for example, with web proxy enabled, ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Multimedia- ASUS O!Play Mini you are unable to expand the list of available downloads

on ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download , the site never finishes loading so you can't even do a search to find product support.  I'm sure other sites are broken as well.

  • If needed, you can create web proxy exception rules or use the transparent proxy skiplist (if using transparent mode) to bypass the proxy for problematic sites.

  • no errors really pop out that I can see.  and strangely, it was working again fine on friday, then stopped again today.
of course, disabling checks etc makes it work.  I'll see if its antivirus causing it and post back
  • None of the lines you showed actually led to a download.  All were satisfied from cache or the server responded that there was no change.  If clearing the cache in your browser doesn't resolve the issue, maybe clearing the cache in the Astaro will.

    Did that work?

  • Hum. For me it's perfectly working with 8.202

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support-
    or
    ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support-

Maybe there's something wrong with your Browser, or you are using some kind of script or adblocker as noscript in Firefox ?

    [:S]

Or you have a category blocked in ASG, which is used for some components in the Asus site. Did you already tried:
    a) another browser without addons
    b) Astaro Proxy without URL Filter (alls blocking categories disabled)

    ???
  • Working here as well.

  • it has been inconsistent as some days it works, others it doesn't and this is happening at more than 1 location behind 2 separate astaro 8.202 firewalls.  No script blockers.  Just standard firefox.  I've also tested from windows and Linux workstations some of which have never been to the asus site and they too were unable to properly browse the support pages until proxy was disabled or an exception was created.  Currently, its working again both before and after clearing browser cache, yet yesterday it was not and nothing was changed.

The next time you have the issue, do try to clear the Astaro's web cache, and let us know the result.

  • Maybe Asus Site isn't a good reference. I have seen some times in the past, that Asus Websites sometimes performs very bad. Maybe overladed, maybe crappy Servers or uplinks. But it's definately not a constant fast website...[;)]
