OWA works, OA doesn't

Hi,

set up Astaro 120 for OWA and OA like described here in thread "Setting Up OWA and Outlook Anywhere", means created DNAT rule. Web Security not active on Astaro (not licensed).

Tested from outside: OWA works, but Outlook can not connect to Exchange.

Any chance, that problems lies within Astaro settings?

    I have some experience with Exchange Servers and know that there are many traps. [:)]

    When using OWA, do you get a valid certificate from the webserver?

    Be aware, that OA may work with domain clients but not with non-domain clients.
    This is because domain-clients do not need a trusted CA certificate installed.

    If autodiscovery is detected but not correctly configured on your Exchange there can also be problems. (Mainly with DNS Records and certificates)

    Did you check that outlook is configured for using HTTP connections?

    Try also to start Outlook with the parameter /rpcdiag

    "Auto Packetfilter" checked in the DNAT rule ? Or if not, manualy created a packetfilter rule for the NAT rule ?

    DNAT should look like this

    Source ANY
    Service HTTPS
    Destination 

    DNAT

    Destination 
    Service you can keeo this one empty, if same service

    If it's exchange 2007 or 2010, make sure, that the external URL is configured on Exchange (IIS)
