Block everything Google Except Google Search

With Google adding music and social networking and many other things, I find myself needing to block everything google except searches. Anyone have an idea how to do that?

Google puts everything under googl.com. Gmail is mail.google.com, their new music hosting site is music.google.com, their new social networking site is plus.google.com. I think their search engine is just google.com and Google.

  • Is there a reason to not block categories like "Dating/Social Networking" and "Entertainment?"

If it's just the Google offerings, you could block, for example: https?://music\.google\.com

  • I wasn't sure the filtering would still block it since I have google.com whitelisted (we use a whitelist with everything else blocked for most users).
  • Good point.  You could, for example, change the whitelist to https?://(www|translate|mail|maps|picasaweb)\.google\.com

I'm no REGEX guru, so others please critique my suggestion.
