problem with ping and V8.012 with proxy enabled

I upgraded to V8.012 this weekend While it does seem to work, browsing, downloading and latency (ping) have been adversely affected. Example:

HTTP proxy disabled:
6.1 Mb Down/720Kb Up, Pings 30 - 50 ms

HTTP proxy enabled:
3.1 Mb Down/702 Kb Up, Pings 150 -250 ms
I had disabled Http cache, AV, and spyware during my tests.

What is the problem ??

Unfortunately we don't know which table/tables is getting hit so hard, but usually the biggest ones are the reporting tables.

You can try reindexing from the shell as root, in case there's some minor corruption or if they've become too bloated.
psql -Ureporting -c"reindex database reporting;" reporting
psql -Ureporting -c"vacuum;" reporting

From what you are saying is you have a lot of logging turned on. Check to see if you need all the logs you are capturing and disable some.

How full is the disk? Are you ageing your reports?
