Web AV Scanning Confusion

Hello,

 I have a client who is asking why some of his downloads are getting scanned and why some are not… He knows when they are being scanned because he will receive the Astaro splash screen and on other downloads it just prompts where to save the file, skipping the Astaro scan... I have also notice this too but have not paid that much attention to it. Does anybody know what the criteria is for the scan to happen?
 I know it has a size limit but in my client’s case he is downloading PDF files that have not reached that limit… An example of what is happening is, the client would go to a site and download a PDF, he will then receive the Astaro splash screen stating the file is being scanned, now if he goes to another site and downloads a PDF from that site, that file will instantly start downloading and doesn’t appear to be getting scanned by the Astaro…

    The Astaro download screen only appears if the Astaro calculates that the time needed to perform the download is larger than "x" seconds (not sure about the exact number). A file is not A-V scanned if it's larger than the max scan size, so if you have that set to a small number, like 10MB, you may have a fast-enough download speed that you never trigger the message.
