ASL 8.102 hogging tranfer again

nearly 6 gigs of data pulling from akamai a W
EEK again.  What's up with that?  I DO have a data cap on my plan and i'm going to be cross if Astaro's excessive usage starts pushing me close to or over that cap.  My cap is generous..but 24 gigs/month is going to be a bit much for some folks to handle.

  • I ahve not started digging relaly deeply..however researching previous threads it's the same behavior.  I noticed this in my executive reports..not so much int he daily the weeklies turned it up.  I'm going to go log diggin over the next few days for further verification.

  • Hi William,
    there should be at least 2 elements to the ASG download component.
    1/. cff
    2/. pattern updates.

    What are your settings for pattern updates?

    I currently have mine set at 15 minutes and running the cff in memory. Over the last week or so there have been at least 3 ASG restarts and I am not seeing anything like the volumes you mention.

  • I may be wrong, but I'm fairly certain Astaro does not use Akamai to host their up2date cloud... I think it's one of the other well-known providers (not sure if I can publish that info here)... I have had some customers complain out akamai updates before, and it's always turned out to be some app that all their client computers had installed (like Adobe Acrobat) that all try to download updates at the same time, etc.
