Few Weeks back, NBC.com was compromised and serving Malware.
- I purposely went to that site simply just to see if Sophos UTM (Latest Version and Definition) would protect me.
- Web Protection as in Content Filtering did NOT Block saying it is compromised what so ever.
- Web Protection as in Anti-Virus did NOT detect anything either ( I enabled Both)
- Network Intrusion Prevention System (With ALL Signatures including Extra Enabled) did NOT detect anything either.
- So ENTIRE UTM did not protect me at all layers.
- Seriously getting more and more disappointed.
- It was McAfee Site Advisors, Bit Defender Traffic Lights, Open DNS, Symantec End Point, Google Chrome build in filtering that did alert.
- Another thing this SOPHOS need to improve is a easier way to submit malicious URL.
- I did find a URL to submit to Astaro (I forget where is it now and I am not keen to use that super tedious form to log in and submit one url) but they should just be on VirusTotal.
