Max Connections Reached V8.003

Hello,
we are running a ASG525 with V8.003 and an unlimited license, but nearly every day our users get a "Max Connections reached ... Please try again later". We are running the Astaro with http-contentfilter, AV and eDirectory and ActiveDirectory-Authentification.
We have about 3000 Users and this is a really annoying thing.
The only thing that works is disable/enable http-proxy.
Does anybody know something about that problem?

Thanks,
Stefan

  • Astaro Support definitely needs to know about this problem.  I think this is unrelated to the number of users except that that has implications for the number of HTTP connections the box has to manage.  Please let us know what happens.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Hello,

I don't know more than that the box sends an error-page to the users with the text "max connections reached". Trying to reload the page works sometimes but its a gamble.
And now I've seen some (many) "Maximum child count reached. Waiting for children to exit." messages in the User Authentication log.

    Regards,
    Stefan
  • You definitely need to get Astaro Support to look at your box.

  • I wasn't at work yesterday, but we saw the same thing yesterday here. Someone else here had Astaro support log into the CLI and simply increase the number of connections on the box from 32000 to 64000.

We're running 2x 525 with HTTP content filter and e-Directory (no firewall or other UTM services turned on). Version 8.101

SSH to the Astaro and entering the following commands at the prompt:

    cc [enter]
        http [enter]
connlimit$ [enter]   (shows the number of concurrent connections)
                              equals  [enter]
