Proxy Auto Configuration

Hi.

I am trying out the new Proxy Auto Cpnfiguration Feature. The 7.506 manual tells howto aktivate the configuration within the ASG dhcp service. In my case a MS2K3 DC is serving the dhcp service. Does anyone know howto use this feature without using the ASG dhcp service?

You have to specify your Pac file in your DHCP server option 252, that is not available by default. You can manually add this option, take a glance to this tutorial: Configuring DHCP and DNS for ISA automatic discovery

it is for ISA server, but it should work also for astaro.

i don't find any astaro documentation regarding this feature.
what is the url i have to set? http://[hostname or ip of the asg]:8080/proxy.pac?

.. more questions

The ISA how to describes everything regarding a wpad setting. the dhcp option is called wpad and also the dns alias is called wpad. do have i have to replace everything by proxy.pac?
the dns would see the .pac as a tld. thats right?

You can set the proxy information manually or you can deploy the proxy info for IE with Group Policy.
