V8.001 can't update Firefox

I'm new to Astaro and have it running in my home network.  Everything is running OK, but I can't update Firefox from within Firefox.  Firefox detects there's a new version (3.6.9), but when it (from within Firefox) attempts to download it, it hangs on trying to connect to the update server.  I've found a few posts and have tried disabling the http/s AV temporarily and that didn't fix it for me.

What else should I try to troubleshoot this?

    it might be a cache issue. Firefox uses multiple URL to update from and that's why I've advised to allow "mozilla" since if you have a look at the HTTP log you will see the multiple URL used. 

    Transparent is the mode that you dont have to configure anything on the client side and you don't have to define extra ports.For example if you want to access something on port 5543 (via http) you will have to add the port as it's not standard. YTou should also configure your brower to use a proxy (either via pac file or manually)
