Clarification on reporting web trafic

Hello all, i am a newbie here coming from Untangle and PFsense I wanted the perfect world that combine the 2 product in one[:)]

I am questioning my decision especially with reporting the web traffic, but maybe i just don't see where to configure it!

My customer want the web filtering to show user time spent on web sites.

From what i can see it the  report it as no such ting! Only duration no time

I think it is extremly important in case a employe is getting in to much of the sites you dot want, you cant tell him the date but not the time he did it...

Also is it possible to log all traffic without blocking it. I usual do that for a month to see if employee are abusing and after that i put a rule on the most active sites.

Can i see live what is going on?

    We need a little more information to help you.  Does the customer have a Web Security subscription?  If so, in what mode are you running the HTTP/S Proxy?

    The Astaro does a great job with reports, and likely can provide more than you now can think to ask for.  If you are a new reseller, Astaro should be providing some guidance on what to sell to the customer and the reasons for it.

    If the customer will pay for a Web Security subscription, that will provide the most control and excellent reporting by website.  If they have Active Directory or similar Apple or Novell products, the Astaro proxy can authenticate via SSO and so provide reporting by username also.  The URL Filtering tools will allow them to block websites by category instead of being forced to maintain vast blacklists of IP addresses or domain names.

    If they won't pay for a subscription, then you still can do some analysis via the 'Accounting' tab in 'Reporting >> Network Usage'.  With the right configuration, you can see domain names and the machine names of their local clients.

    Since there are several different solutions, it's important to know which solution you want to use: access via Proxy or without.
