Streaming Media Problems

Hi,
When I don't have the HTTP proxy enabled, I am able to listen to my local radio over the internet (Heart Radio in Dunstable, more music variety - Heart 97.6).

When I enable the HTTP proxy and set it to transparent mode, I am unable to listen to my local radio. 

I've tried putting in an exception with all checks disabled for all domain names that I've captured in the logs but still nothing. 

I've tried putting in all the domain names used by the live player into the tranparent proxy skiplist and still nothing.

I'm stuck on this one...anyone got any suggestions???

BTW - this was happening on 7.5 and is also happening on 8.0

    Hi, Andrew, and welcome to the User BB!

    If you have the Proxy in "Transparent" mode, and a site doesn't like to be proxied, you can add it to the 'Transparent mode skiplist;' on the 'Advanced' tab.  Before you do that, be sure you try with 'Bypass content scanning for streaming content' checked.

    Thanks for the reply Bob.  As you can see from my original post, I've tried the 'Transparent Mode Skiplist' already and it doesn't work.

    'Bypass content scanning for streaming content' is selected by default so I know it's not that either.

    Fixed it!!!

    A quick look at the source code revealed a different server that was being called by the flash player that wasn't being reported anywhere.

    The value in the source code was: -
    flashvars="connectionUri=rtmp://cdn-sov-2.musicradio.com:80..."

    Creating a definition for that server and adding it the proxy bypass cured the probelm.

    Strange that it wasn't being reported anywhere that the server was trying to be accessed...

    I struggle with these types of issues daily - i wish there was some way to effectively whitelist the 'secondary' site it calls instead of trying to track it down the hard way thru the log files...
