Web Browing Slowness

Hi

Currently, I "locked down" my Firewall with NO LAN -> Internet = Allow Rule.

This way, it is 100% via the HTTP Proxy which works.

But it is Really Significant slowness as long as I disable the LAN -> Internet Rule.

For DNS, I set it to use Astaro who in turn use Open DNS.

But I do not understand how come the browsing performance is significantly slower.

If I just turn on the rule, it simply is faster.

    This is just plain wrong.

    The 32Bit kernel makes use of PAE, which offers 52Bits to address memory which is a lot more than just 3GB [:D]

    But *single processes* can only make use of max. 2GB per process. Since there are a lot of these on an ASG, IMHO there is no need to worry ATM if you're still using the 32Bit Kernel.


    You are just flat wrong.....32 bit will not use 4 gigs if presented as such by default...if you want to do ram paging and take the performance hit force pae but the default astaro kernel won't use more than 3.6 or less due to
