Web Browing Slowness

Hi

Currently, I "locked down" my Firewall with NO LAN -> Internet = Allow Rule.

This way, it is 100% via the HTTP Proxy which works.

But it is Really Significant slowness as long as I disable the LAN -> Internet Rule.

For DNS, I set it to use Astaro who in turn use Open DNS.

But I do not understand how come the browsing performance is significantly slower.

If I just turn on the rule, it simply is faster.

    - I left the machine to download over the afternoon.
    - When I came back from work, all my browsing to any sites like CNN, CNBC, BBC, my IE 9 does show the Title but keeps spinning.

    - I restored to my last backup.

    - BUT I am giving it a go again now !

    - Question: what is the command to see the current setting so that I know it is still in effect ?

    - Next question, how to ensure this SSH is secured after I am done.
