Web Browing Slowness

Hi

Currently, I "locked down" my Firewall with NO LAN -> Internet = Allow Rule.

This way, it is 100% via the HTTP Proxy which works.

But it is Really Significant slowness as long as I disable the LAN -> Internet Rule.

For DNS, I set it to use Astaro who in turn use Open DNS.

But I do not understand how come the browsing performance is significantly slower.

If I just turn on the rule, it simply is faster.

    No, the setting is saved in backups, but the database is not, so if you've enabled the feature (mem or disk) and restore the backup to a fresh install, the database will be re-downloaded.

    You shouldn't have to do anything.  I would expect that the final version will be able to detect whatever you currently have it set to.

    - I executed the commands.
    - Seems to be working as I can see it downloading tons of stuff now.

    Question

    1) So this command which change a Setting would be a setting saved into my Daily Backups.

    2) It will automatically update this database at what interval?

    3) I set to MEM (Because I have 3GB on my machine, way much more than a Appliance)

    4) Thus a restart of machine would Redownload and load to MEM or there is a copy somewhere on the hardisk?

    5) Update you all again how it goes later....it is jamming up my 3Mbps line at 2.5Mbps now
