FTP Proxy not working

Hello,

I am pretty new to Astaro security gateway and i am trying to setup the FTP proxy on my network.

My company's network is attached to an ASTARO V7.305 connected to a SDSL line.

To make tests as simple as possible, i created a "packet filter" rule allowing my laptop to use any service to any external site.

I turned on FTP proxy and added my network (10.11.3.0/24) to the list of allowed networks and used transparent mode.

I then tried to connect to cisco FTP via filezilla client but it does not work.
I tried also to change the proxy setttings in my ftp client, but still not working.

when i disable FTP proxy, it works ok.

Could anyone let me know where did i go wrong ?  did i miss something ?

    You can put the FTP Proxy in "Both" or "Non-transparent" mode, then configure Filezilla by following the instructions to the right of the 'Allowed networks' box: 
    In Non-Transparent Mode you can use gateway-ip:2121 

    as a proxy in your ftp client (use username@host[[:P]ort] as login then).


    My understanding is that you should choose:
    • "Transparent" mode if you have the HTTP/S Proxy in "Transparent" mode,
    • "Non-transparent" if you want to use an FTP client like Filezilla and you have HTTP/S in a mode that requires pointing the browser at the Astaro on port 8080,
    • "Both" if you want to use an FTP client like Filezilla and you have the HTTP/S Proxy in "Transparent" mode.

    Please post a comment if this conflicts with your experience.
