Must enter proxy in IE to access webadmin

I have my Astaro install set up as fully transparent.  It works fine as long as I don't try to access the Astaro interface with IE.  There is no proxy set up in IE and as I said, it normally works fine.  To access the Astaro webmin interface, I must manually add the proxy in IE which causes other sites to fail.  Also, I have to manually enter the proxy for Google Talk to work.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Try adding the ASG address to the proxy bypass function in your webbrowser. 

    If you have the proxy function in IE X set to no proxy this won't have any affect eg no boxes in the connection tab ticked.

    You have the HTTP/S Proxy in "Full transparent" mode?  Is the Astaro running in bridged mode, or do you have public IPs in you internal network?

    I don't have a 7.5xx box to refer to at the moment. Doesn't full transparent require authentication? That mode is not available in the v8b so I can't check it.

    Change the proxy setting to transparent.

    I have it set to full transparent.  I do not have a bridge set up, just using NAT.  What I am trying to achieve is to have dhcp issue the Astaro server as the gateway, and not have to modify any browser proxy settings.  Again, the problem with that is, if I do it, I can't accesss the Astaro website without adding the proxy settings to IE.  That allows me to access Astaro, but shuts off access to EVERYTHING else, including GoogleTalk.  Maybe I'll just have to use one box to access Astaro and keep the proxy settings on that one?

    "Full transparent" causes the Astaro to send the browsing request from the client IP instead of the Astaro's "External (Address)" IP; you should not select that, just "Transparent" mode.

    Get rid of any tricks you've tried to make "Full" work, and let us know if you're still having problems.

    That did it!  It's working perfectly now.  Thanks for the help!  Now on to trying to set up email security... it promises to be fun.  :-)

    Hi,
    do you have a mail server behind the ASG?
     Otherwise POP3 mail security is easy, just follow the manual.

    If you don't have a mail server and you want to use smtp security for outgoing, I can provide the setup details for that.
