im skype problem

we have astaro web gateway v7
Firmware version:  7.504 
Pattern version:  12062 

we setup all the users ok and now tried to allow skype for a few of them
we setup all according to the manual
skype uses https proxy (astaro) to connect but it doesnt seem to do it
i see the traffice from the user (ip) but it goes as blocked as it was a web page. 
and before you ask  yes all are setup correct 
Global networks and exceptions
when i click on im/p2p tab for info it doesnt show me any statistics
also the live log shows none
its like the Controlled Networks, whose traffic is sent to the Astaro Flow Classifier sub-system and examined for IM/P2P traffic is not working


any ideas some one

    The last post gives explicit instructions for configuring a socks proxy for Skype.

    actually i saw that but why do i have to make a socks proxy for skype
    according to the manual you dont need that


    and also i dont have

    Network Security Tab > Advanced > SOCKS proxy tab

    the traffic is not categorized as im
    search the forums and saw various posts regarding skype
    none of them helped
    also some of them where not even answered or said that the solution that was offered was successfull

    That thread has two people who said it works for them, and the guy who posts the step-by-step implies it works for him, too.  I don't use it, but I know that BarryG and Alvin have posted about using SOCKS for Skype.  If the 'SOCKS' tab doesn't show in 'Network Security >> Advanced', there's something amiss.  If closing the WebAdmin window and clearing the browser cache doesn't work to make that tab appear, you might need to reload the software.

    Hi, afaik Skype will not work if you're using the http proxy in transparent mode, unless you configure Skype to use Astaro's SOCKS proxy.

    Personally, I don't use the http proxy and Skype works fine, but I also have an INT->ANY-ANY-Allow PF rule.

    hi, i am afraid thats not an option and since they say skype control i want that to work
    as for proxy is in normal mode and not transparent
    socks proxy for skype, why dont they say it in the manual or say its experimental
    sure i know a way to make skype to work but thats not the case i want
    i want the product i paid for to do what is said to do.
    dont take me wrong i know you guys are ok, read a few posts from you and seen your help to people

    maybee its a problem on my setup altough it works great so far except skype
    i would like to know if i can troubleshoot why skype traffic is not categorized
