WiFi Skype

I am attempting to set-up the following scenario and would like to know if anyone has been successful and what they did to get it working

What I am trying to achieve is a dedicated WiFi link for a WiFi Skype phone going through an ASG V7.504 ( see image for details)

Basically 

A Dlink Wireless device is connected to the Astaro device to allow WiFi connection through the firewall.
I have it working for internet access from the laptop, but cannot get the Skype phone to see the internet.

On the laptop I have to enter proxy details into the browser settings, I have tried to do the same on the Belkin Skype phone, but no luck.

The question I suppose is can I setup the ASG so that no proxy info is needed

    Hi,
    do you have the Skype helper enabled in the IM/P2P tab?

    Skype will attempt to use what ever ports it can. If you have a general packet filter rule along the lines of
    internal network-> any (port) -> any (destination) -> allow Skype should find its way out of your ASG without going through the proxy.

    What mode are you running the proxy in. If transparent mode and Skype uses port 80 the proxy will grab it.

    Yes I have it set to block every thing but to log Skype

    Have set this up but no change

    What mode are you running the proxy in - 
    I have setup a HTTP/S profile for the "skype" network with Transparent Mode selected as the operating mode and Full transparent mode ticked


    On the laptop I have installed Skype software and this is working - with automatic proxy detection set in the options, so I think the issue maybe with the WiFi phone not recognising the ip address of the ASG proxy.
    Does it need to or should it just "find" a route through?

    What kind of NAT/Masq. do you have configured? Is there a rule for the whole WLAN network or maybe only for one (the laptop) specific client?

    Hi,
    if you have the proxy in transparent mode you don't need to tell the skype box about it. The skype box doesn't need to know about the http proxy as it will do its best to avoid using the proxy.
    Skype will find a port in the packet filter and go through that.

    Thanks for the help guys.
    The problem is the phone is a bit wobbly, searching online for info about the problem brings up many posts about the Belkin phone displaying no connected to internet.

    Its working OK from the laptop so I should get it from the phone if I hit it off the desk a few times [:D]
