I just hit an interesting problem. I have been making some changes to my dns for one of my sites. I noticed that even they had propagated to my own dns server my workstation was not getting the updates. The internal AD server was..aka if i surfed to mail.hescominsoon.com i got the NEW site on the server(gmail page) but the old site on my workstation(it's actually to another domain i own not even hescominsoon.com). I knew the problem has to be internal.
I cleared the caches in all 3 browsers, in local dns cache and in server cache. NO change. After doing detailed dns lookups i figured out the only thing left...the astaro box. I could not figure out where the stuck dns entries were. I have Astaro's dns pointing back to AD so that wasn't it....Finally after some digging i decided to take a WAG. i disabled the http proxy. Instantly all of the stale dns issue went away. I then turn the proxy back on and the stale dns entries were there. I have all caching turned off...
