Override blocked content with Authentication

Ok, here is what I would like to accomplish.

When I setup a proxy profile to block all content except the white list, it would be nice if when it was blocked, I was given a way to authenticate to essentially override the block.

We have a common area computer, that will run a tight blocked profile, but it would be handy to be able for those with permission to visit the blocked content to override it, letting us view it on that computer.

Ideally, allowed content would just be displayed, without authentication.

Is this possible?  If so, how?

  • This is one of the items in Astaro Feature Requests.  Another idea: you could set the screen lock to 15 seconds, and force users to logon.  Then you could use basic authentication.  That would allow you to use profiles for individual users.  If you have Active Directory, then AD-SSO would be an even-better solution.
