[7.504] No categorization received error?

Hi All

From time to time I am keep getting the error logs below from my HTTP proxy. I don't think there is something I can do but I just wanted to double check with you guys whether you have the same issue. I am keep getting that no categorization received for url including specific windows URL,messenger,astaro and so on

I don;t have any issues as far I can tell for the browsing side of things.I am using AD for my proxy HTTP and HTTPS is enabled

the problem is no one can open any site the log says no categorization received
and on the browser "connection to server timed out"

techuser, do you block uncategorized?

Are either one of you guys seeing anything in the IPS log?

no uncategorized is not block, and even if it was blocked most of the sites like google yahoo and msn are catergorized
I have disabled the IPS
nothing seems to work

We have been absolutely plagued by this issue since going to 7.5 It is starting to become a widely-known problem. We may be looking at other solutions if their model for categorization does not improve.

Well, we have not gone to that extent yet but all you need to do is ping or traceroute their categorization servers to find out the response times are extremely erratic, even for those that are supposedly the closest hops for US customers. I have done these pings and traceroutes from both our network and my home (Charter) connection.

first unblock categorizaton failed category in content filter. Also turn off the reputation block and see if that helps. Since the http proxy is tied to Astaro's CFF content database servers if they are having issues your proxy will have issues. I think this is the cause of many http proxy issues..astaro claims it's dns. I have been able to rule out dns and at least for me ips eating dns.
