download.microsoft.com

I downloaded an 85 meg file from download.microsoft.com (WSUS) and it seems to have skipped the proxy  pop-up "downloading... scanning for viruses... " window.

Under exceptions for the proxy, Microsoft has a listing that includes microsoft.com - skip AV.
Does the proxy exceptions list also honor child domains as the parent domain?

IE Does the proxy see download.microsoft.com as microsoft.com and skip the AV scan?

It seems this is true, but I want to confirm it.

Thanks,

C68

  • I have it set for a crazy 501 megs in the default area. [8-)]

I also have it set at 501 megs in the create your own profile area as well. (This is what I am using, not the default profile.)

I had not previously downloaded this through the Astaro, so it would not have been cached.
