Failed to get Scanner Instance

Have an ASG 220 with Current firmware version of 7.501. Our HTTP profile includes dual a/v scanning. For the first time today, we get the error 'failed to get scanner instance'.  I saw this post in the beta forum and disabling and re-enabling the a/v did not work. I have disabled a/v scanning for now so that users can access the web, but that is a temporary workaround.

Do I need to restart the box (uptime is only 17d 20h 30m)? Any other ideas?

    Hi all,

    There is a bit of confusion on the pattern version sometimes.  Although the pattern version may show the latest at 11186 that may only be due to the newer updates for clam AV or the IPS.

    In order for the Avira pattern to update the avira scanner must be enabled.

    To do this without affecting users HTTP web browsing we suggest activating the web security>>FTP proxy and set the Antivirus tab to dual scan.

    This way the system will update all of the patterns on the system on next check.

    To force the downloads once activated either use the manual pattern check in management>>up2date or at ssh run:
    audld.plx
    auisys.plx --nosys
