multiple authentication - AD & eDIR

Hi Fellas:

Is it possible to have Web Security configured to use two back-end authentication directories (AD & eDIR)?

Just wondering if this is possible.

Thanks!

  • I think that authentication works the way you want.  I don't know if you can mix them on the same subnet; if you try that, please let us know what happened.  In any case, you can set up one profile that authenticates with AD and a different one with eDir.  In V7.500, you can use SSO with eDir; before that, SSO is only possible with AD.

  • ok, I have them both enabled but under the HTTP/S Global Tab there is a drop-down for "Operation Mode" that lists my eDir.

This makes me suspicious that it can only support one "mode" and if I enable AD here it may break my eDIR.

Unfortunately I do not have a test environment and if I break production and million slackers would break down me office door!

    Thanks.
  • You definitely will need to use a different Profile for one or the other - you only can have one auth method per profile.
