Filtering a non-domain PC

Hi,

Our warehouse has recently changed one of its courier firms.  They have now supplied us with a machine with their software on it.  I am now able to add it to our domain, but need to a) allow it to access a specific web page and b) prevent anyone accessing anything else.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Cheers,

FB

  • Do you have a web security subscription?  What version of Astaro?

  • There are several possible solutions, including...

If you are running the HTTP Proxy in transparent mode, then put the IP of the new PC in the transparent mode skiplist, don't check the 'Allow HTTP traffic for listed hosts/nets' box and create a packet filter rule that allows the IP of the PC to reach the IP of the service.

Or, if you are using Authentication and Profiles, create a separate Profile for the new PC, create a filter action in "block by default" mode then insert the URL in the Allow box and assign this filter to the username associated to the PC.

    Cheers - Bob
