Web Gateway and BES

I have a BES server that the BlackBerry internet traffic is going through currently, I would like this traffic to be filtered by web gateway running on the Astaro. Has anyone been able to accomplish this? If so what if any issues did you come across configuring it?

    The Astaro doesn't filter outbound http traffic.  If you're using the SMTP Proxy, then the inbound traffic should be filtered by it before being relayed through your mail server to the BES.  If web surfing by the Blackberries goes through the BES (Cool! - I didn't know that was possible), and that's what you want to control, then let us know your version of Astaro and the mode you're using for the HTTP Proxy.

    The simple answer is yes, the Astaro can filter your Blackberry user's content (Bob, I understood his question as him looking for a way to restrict the Blackberry Phone users' web access so as not have them surfing the nudie sites, etc.).  You will need to configure the BES settings to point the BES Services at the proxy (Setup a standard mode profile for it)... This can be done by modifying the Connection Service Properties (MDS Connection Service)... the Proxy Mappings property needs to be modified.  Use the default URL definition, and modify the properites of that URL definition to include a string to allow it to connect to the proxy on port 8080 (or whatever port you have the standard proxy on the Astaro set to).  You will also need to make policy changes on teh phones to force them to use the MDS for Internet access.
