Website Layout Problems when using IE with Web Proxy

Hello there!

This is my first post and a real problem:

Within my company we are providing IE7 and Firefox 3.5.2 for the users (XP Pro clients) and each browser has been set up with the web proxy's IP address and Port 8080. (Astaro V. 7.402, ASG 320)

When the users open a website like hotmail, yahoo, gmx or even youtube the layout is totally messed up. like there is unformatted text and images and all below each other. For a bunch of other websites it's working quite well.

Now the interesting part: When using Firefox with the same sites all the layout is perfect. When NOT using the web proxy but Internet Explorer it all works great, too.

So how can I fix that behaviour that the IE's websites layout looks messy and make the web proxy and the IE work together? I searched for a similar post but searched myself to death almost. 

It's urgent!

    I can't remember where, but I recently read that Microsoft fixed a coding error in IE that "broke" lots of sites and software.  I know that the Google toolbar has a "compatibility" switch that is, I believe, meant to fix the fix.

    I completely updated the entire XP system including IE7 (no IE8 yet but has to work!). We are providing WLAN access to our guests and they have problems with that, too, which is very annoying and embarrassing. The site layout shall just work with any browser used. [:@][:S]
