NOD32 Antivirus and HTTP Proxy

I have NOD32 Ver 4 antiviris.  It has a screen where you can put in proxy and authentication info, but NOD32 is unable to get updates.  To get virus updates I have to remove proxy settings in NOD32 and temporarily add the PC to the transparent mode skiplist.  I can then update the virus definitions.  Then I remove the PC from the transparent mode skiplist.  I running Astaro 7.470 (Beta) with Basic User Authentication.

    Have you tried creating an exception for .eset.com to avoid blocking these updates?

    Yes, I already have an exception setup for eset.com.  NOD32 updates used to work, but I'm using ESET V4 now, I was using V3.  And I'm also using Astaro Beta, so I'm not sure which change has created this problem.

    You're using the AntiVirus scanning feature in Astaro's HTTP Proxy right? The delay this precaching and checking of the ASG takes triggers a timeout in NOD32's download procedure and will tell you that updating failed. A workaround is to add NOD32's UpdateServer's IP adresses to the transparent mode skiplist - OR to use a NOD32 Update Mirror internally to deploy updatesto all clients. OR temporarily disable AV scanning and have all NOD32 PCs update themselves. Once the bigger updates are installed OK, the next updates are so small that the AV checking of the ASG doesnt take too long to trigger that NOD32 update timeout. At least that's what we've noticed.

    Yes, I am using antivirus scanning in Astaro's HTTP proxy.  If it's Astaro's antivirus scanning delay that's causing a problem, could I create and Exception list and add ESETs servers to it?  Do you know the IPs for ESETs UPdateServers?

    I got it working.  Previously I had an exception for eset.com.  In the exception I had selected: Antivirus, Extension Blocking, Content removal.  NOD32 (Ver 4) updates failed with and without the proxy setup in NOD32.  I changed the exception to only select Authentication and I added the proxy info into NOD32, now it works.
