[7.402]Firefox/ Thunderbird unable to update

Hi

I am using v7.402 with HTTPS enabled(transparent mode as operation). Firefox and Thunderbird are unable to update giving me a "AUS Update XML File Malformed 200" error. (error when trying to update addons,themes) If I disable HTTPS then the updates work fine. I've tried to create an exception for the following URLs (checked all boxes for skipping checks) but doesn't work and I can't find anything useful from the logs

mozilla.org
mozilla.com
mozillamessaging.com

Any ideas?

    Hi,
    I think it is a firefox issue. When an update is released I get the notification and try to download it, it always fails, vista 64, 32 and XP sp3. I end up having to download a full installation which downloads and installs without a hassle. No changes to the ASG or PC to make it happen.
    So, my summation is that firefox update process fails to use the proxy configuration information in firefox.

    I don't have firefox configured to use a proxy (I use transparent mode in ASG). It just seems that the exception doesn't work for mozilla. I don't even get the update that a new version exists as you do.

    Hi,
    You can try to add the whole subnet of Mozilla Corporation as "Network" exception in the Transparent mode skiplist:

    63.245.208.0/20

    It works for me.

    For those, who use Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop (based on Mozilla Prism), you can add:

    bugzilla.zimbra.com as "DNS host" exception.

    Thanks sdesaules. Hovewer, as RFCat_vk pointed out there is still an issue where the actually update fails.Do you experience the same problem?

    No, I just test this morning with a portable Firefox 3.5b3, and make the update to 3.5b4 with no issue.
    No proxy under Firefox, and Astaro is the gateway, transparent mode with HTTPS.

    it seems that I am facing the same issues as Ian. I can search for updates but when trying to update the incremental update on Firefox fails (able to detect version 3.10 for Firefox but unable to verify integrity for the incremental update)

    Ok I forget to mention, you have to add in "Exceptions",  "Skipping": Antivirus / Extension blocking / MIME type blocking / URL Filter / Content Removal, for "Target Domains" mozilla.com
     and mozilla.org
    This should resolve the issue.

    Sorry sdesaules still doesn't work. I am still getting the same error for integrity

    Hi,

    we have the same problem.

    When turning off HTTPS virus scan, Firefox update works fine.

    How to make an https exceptions, that works?

    Hi,

    I think that CA of Astaro is not trusted by firefox.
    The Windows update fails when CA is imported from the property of IE. 
    It is necessary to do the import by mmc as described in the online help.

    I think that the same thing has occurred in the update of firefox and thunderbird. 
    I do not understand the evasion methods other than using Transparent mode skiplist.

    Does anyone know the method of trusting CA of Astaro?
    I think that this issue happens to other applications that use HTTPS.
