I have an application that uses a HTTPS tunnel to xyz.com via java and commandline.
If I enable HTTPS scanning on the global tab (no one can access xyz.com)
If I add xyz.com as an exception and check everything (still no access)
If I add xyz.com to the transparent skip list (still no access)
**Note eicar test works and file is blocked**
Question 1: Should'nt the exception and/or skip list bypass HTTPS scanning for xyz.com?
If I DISABLE HTTPS scanning on the global tab
Remove the exception created
Remove the skip list entry (we can access xyz.com)
*Note eicar test fails and file is downloaded**
If I create a user profile and enable HTTPS scanning (we still can access xyz.com)
*Note eicar test works and file is blocked**
If enable HTTPS scanning on the global tab
Remove HTTPS scanning from the user profile I created (I can not access xyz.com)
*Note eicar test works and file is blocked**
Am I missing something here? I would assume that the profiles, exceptions and skip lists are to bypass the the default global settings.
Any insight would be helpful.
