http proxy restarts itself - 7.305 software

Twice now, the http proxy service (I assume) has died and is restarted. Our proxy appears down for about 3-4 minutes during this time.... long enough to have all our users freaking out....

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? It is running on an HP DL360 with a Intel Quad and 4GB RAM. Total unique users is usually 250 or so per day. Not a heavy load at all.

The starting point will be browsing the logs, I would start with HTTP proxy/content filter, kernel, middleware, system and fallback logs. Find the time of the restarts and work back from there in the other logs- and try to connect events. You may want to look at IM/P2P and IPS logs, too, in case one of those systems was intercepting traffic flowing through the proxy.

If you find anything which seems relevant, post it.

Which logs should we look into?
I suspect the update process as it runs the same time like the restarts (/var/log/up2date.log).

With 7.401 the problem seems fixed. At least since 2 weeks now, no proxy restart occured.
