Hello all.
I'd like to setup a time event definition that would block internet access
for specific IP addresses. At the moment, the configuration doesn't seem to
work the way I thought it would.
Here's a scenario:
Block user stimpy on 192.168.2.100 from accessing the internet on Saturday and Suday
between 7:00am through 1:00pm.
Here's my setup:
1. Create a new time event definition.
Name: Block HTTP
Type: Recurring Event
Start Time: 7:00
End Time: 13:00
Weekdays: Saturday Sunday
2. Create new HTTP Profiles.
- Filter Actions
Name: Block HTTP
Mode: Allow by default
Categories: All checked(check marked)
Block these URL/sites:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
- Filter Assignments
Name: Block HTTP
User/Groups: stimpy
Time Event: Block HTTP
Filter Action: Block HTTP
- Proxy Profiles
Name: Block HTTP
Source: 192.168.2.100
Filter Assignments: Block HTTP
Fallback action: Block HTTP
Operation Mode: Transparent Mode
3. Test
Tried to access youtube.com and it's blocked. Good, and as expected.
Now, I changed the "End Time" to 10:00am, to esentially "finish" the
time event. I then tried to access youtube.com but it's still blocked.
I waited for awhile thinking it's a cache issue but after 30minutes
later, youtube.com still being blocked. So what's the issue?
Any suggestion on how to resolve this or to make it work correctly is much
appreciated.
Thanks!
