Using ASG as a web proxy only

Hi all,

I've a client has ASG425 and he want's to use it as a web proxy only because he already has Cisco ASA

what i have to do for disable the firewall features and IPS in ASG?

    It depends on how you are configuring your network and what proxy mode you want to use, the easiest way is probably to put the ASG inline and bridge two network interfaces (one facing the ASA and one facing the LAN).  This will allow you to monitor and filter all traffic through the ASG.  You will need packet filter rules allowing appropriate traffic to flow through the ASG.

    I am currently evaluating this same configuration. So far no major problems, my question concerns licensing count. 

    No machine points to the Astaro box as a gateway, only the web browser proxy settings.

    Only the users, approx 60 will use the proxy. How many licenses will Astaro think I need?

    Regarding the License I think you need 60

    Now I have the problem which is the user how uses the FTP Client such as filezilla or smartftp can't accessing to the ftp server but from the IE or Firefox they can access[:S]

    I configure the Client FTP to use the Astaro as Proxy but doesn't work i't gives me an error
    "Proxy: Connected to proxy server. Sending connection request.


    Proxy: Request failed. HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
    An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine."
