Transparent proxy and NTLM

Is there any way round this? "In transparent mode, the proxy will strip NTLM authentication headers from HTTP requests". Is it the same with all Transparent proxys?

Thanks for your reply, thats how we have set it up.

Also is there a flow chart of how packets move through the gateway?
