HTTP proxy and IE 6 and yahoo mail

Hi all
I have a problem regarding yahoo mail, http proxy, IE 6
The site opens but when trying to sign in nothing happens the page looks like waiting forever to authenticate and eventually doesn’t open! When using IE 7 there is no problem 
I can't download IE 7 on all the users.

Any help will be appreciated
