We have a ASG320 in a dorm that supports multiple different types of OSes so we cannot use a windows domain. We use local authentication on the Astaro to require all users to login to the Astaro to gain access to the internet. It is not in the budget for Web Security Service.
Browsing the internet works fine, however, we can not get automatic updates for the antivirus and OS to work. The only one that does work is Norton on Parallels.
The solution given by astaro support is to record blocked requests while attempting to update and then create an exemption for those IPs. This will work after a few hours of waiting - I think there are too many Update servers on the internet to get them all. Is there any other way to get the automatic updates to work?
Are there any AV's that just have a few update servers?
