Streaming radio

We have more than a few users using streaming radio over the web and would like to put an end to it.  I know we can kill the streaming by unchecking the Bypass content scanning for streaming content, but we also have many users that legitimately need to watch streaming videos, etc for training purposes.

Is ther an easier way to block these sites/protocols rather than adding each URL individually?

in the web security area..turn on the transparent proxy..then turn on http anti-virus then turn off the streaming media bypass.  should kill most streaming services..[:)]

William has offered a broad brush approach and I don't think that is what you are interested in.

What you are after is to block individuals accessing streaming audio, the assumption they aren't the ones needing access to the training videos?

You would need to put the create PF rules allowing only those users to access the streaming sites, put the streaming sites in the bypass list on the web admin pages and add those sites to the users IE/Firefox bypass proxy list.

I have tried this and not been able to get it to work because the streaming audio uses strange non standard ports, which vary from audio source to audio source within the one web server. The initial contact with the web server is through a secure port.

Some days it works without filters, like today. Yesterday I needed filters, maybe this PC is sicker than I think.
