howto ftp?

Ok, call me noob but I can't get it working...

I've enabled the FP proxy with the Internal network allowed.
No fancy settings, onlu virus scanning is enabled.

In the packet filter section I've a rul to allow all outbound traffic from the internal network. The only other rules are for allowing interbet traffic to my web and mail servers.

All ftp requests from a client results in a 425 error.
The FTP proxy log:
2008:02:07-15:58:06 (none) frox[30270]: Connection timed out when trying to connect to 145.23.254.248
2008:02:07-15:58:06 (none) frox[30270]: Failed to contact server data port

What do I have to configure more to get ftp proxy working?

Try turning off the FTP proxy and see if it works then, (You have all outbound traffic allowed so it should).

I assume you have a MASQ rule for your internal network to the external interface?

I do have 1 masq rule:
Internal (Network) --> WAN 1 (26)

Disabling FTP proxy does not help, neither does disabling FTP and HTTP proxy together. I also tried enabling the FTP server and making a exception for a specific host in the FTP proxy skiplist.

To use FTP through Http proxy you need to use the correct syntax if it is a FTP site that requires Authentication for examples>>http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/40301/40301.html
