No caching on certain extensions

Hi all,

I'm running ASG 7.1 (soon to update to 7.101), and now that we're bypassing the proxy for streaming media, there must be a way to specific other file extensions to bypass. In my case, I'd like to not cache swf files.

The reason being is Flash caches badly, even when we were using Squid. We do dev work in Flash, and when there are changes to the swf file, I have to clear the cache manually since it just won't get the new version. 

Is there a way I can stop swf files from caching?

    Ah, you mean that Flash caches too well. [:)]

    The proper thing to do is to configure the servers serving the flash content to ask the browsers to revalidate the content more often.

    I don't know of a way to exclude certain types of files/urls from being cached in the proxy.

    A shift-reload of the affected page in the browser should always instruct the proxy to retrieve the latest content for the entire page.

    Hi,

    I'd like to resurrect this thread as I'm in need of knowing about other caching options.

    I'd like to prevent certain URLs and/or File extensions from being cached.

    How can I do this??

    I have deactivated caching in every Astaro for which I have any responsibility.  I don't think it's advantageous to use caching for most everyone in the world today.
