AV-Error after downloading a ISO-image

Hi

I want download (via http-proxy) a iso-image of a size of 4 GB and get the following error-message:

Astaro Security Gateway Version 7 http://www.astaro.com
The requested content was blocked by the content filter
While trying to retrieve the URL:  http://cdn.novell.com/opensuse/distribution/10.3/iso/dvd/openSUSE-10.3-GM-DVD-i386.iso
The content is blocked due to the following condition:  error (in module av)
Report:  An error occured during response scanning
Your cache administrator is: x@y.z

the max scan-size is set to 30 MB and dual-scan is activated

the file can only by downloaded, if virus-scan is disabled

Problem known?

regards   Peter

  • btw, the file is slightly larger than 4Gb.  i downloaded it last night and created a DVD, but couldn't copy the raw ISO to a DVD (or DVD-DL), since the filesize is greater than 4Gb.

    I want download (via http-proxy) a iso-image of a size of 4 GB ...   openSUSE-10.3-GM-DVD-i386.iso
  • If you are using the HTTP Proxy, I believe Squid (the current HTTP Proxy Engine) has a file size limit of 2GB ... therefore you probably need to add a rule to your packet filter, etc. to allow the COMPLETE bypass of the proxy for downloading your DVD image.  --- note that while Squid 2.5 Stable 9 added support for file objects bigger than 2GB, I've still found that I've had problems with files larger than that... I just bypass the Proxy.

  • Hi BrucekConvergent

    Thanks for posting

This can't be the problem, because i has downloaded the iso-image over the proxy later, but with disabled virus-scan on proxy.

i think, the main problem is, that the definition "Max scanning size: 30 Megabytes" in Web Security » HTTP » Anti-Virus is ignored

    Cheers   Peter
  • Well, you could be right ... I haven't tried using the proxy to download a large file in a long time.  I do think that there is a problem with the max scanning size parameter being ignored in 7.009 -- I think they're going to fix it with an upcoming up2date.
