Hi group, I can access the following 2 websites in version 6 but not version 7 using Internet Explorer, works fine in Firefox. How about you? http://www.thestar.com and http://www.therecord.com These are two local newspaper sites.

I have a ticket open with Astaro that doesn't seem to be going anywhere and was wondering about some other Astaro users and if they could access them using Internet Explorer. I've tried 10 different Windows machines 2000/XP and Vista. None work when passing through a version 7 Astaro device. Workstation locks up solid until you end the IE task.

    Rob,

    Are you using HTTP Proxy under V7?
    Firefox and IE6 OK! whitout Proxy......
    IE6 with Proxy LOCKUP!

    Yes, trying to get it to work using V7 Http proxy. Thanks SilverOne, C'mon guy's I need more proof.

    I can verify that this happens in IE7 as well.  I'm starting a ticket with Astaro Support, as I want whatever bug is causing this fixed; who knows what other sites would trigger this behavior!  Sites worked fine with Proxy using Firefox 2.x, and with IE running without the proxy settings enabled (I run the proxy in standard mode).  Rob, if you have support, report the issue as well, the squeeky wheel gets the grease!

    Thanks Bruce, I've had a ticket open for 2 weeks now. They (Astaro) say it's fine (yet the ticket is still open). Which I know is a flat out lie. Even my reseller can't get it to work and I haven't heard from them in over a week. I'm testing these 2x425s for an Enterprise (500 users) implementation and so far things have been less that stellar.

    Well, add me to the list of folks that will be clamoring to get this fixed;  They may not be in a hurry to fix it (this is my theory / opinion only), as they are going to be replacing the current HTTP Proxy (Squid) with their own soon ... I don't know that to be the case, but I'll find out.

    IE 7 using version 7 with http proxy- and I made it to both of those domains. which I'd never been to before, so they weren't cached. What type of error are you actually seeing? The website blocked, or just timing out?

    I am running a pair of 425's, one being a 425a using v7.007 and I can get to both of these sites using the proxy system and I can get access to these two sites no problem

    Guys, please can you post your Content Filter log entries so we can see what error code you are getting

    Thanks guy's I'm just in the middle of reinstalling version 7, once I get it back up and running I'll post the content filter logs. I can't try 7.006 or 7.007 because Edirectory authentication is broken and Ièm still waiting for the fix. Ièm wondering if it may be fixed in those newer revs. Bruce and SilverOne, what revs of 7 are you running.
