I finally took the plunge and loaded 7.005 onto a new drive ( 6.10 still intact on origional drive). Everything that was supposed to import from my 6.10 backup did, and the box appears to be working fine.
My problem is with the HTTP filter actions. I am running in "Blacklist" mode and have "Games" listed as on of the categories to block.
With 6.xx I had black and white lists to allow / block sites that fell through the categorization process. With 7.005 I can't figure out how to account for the new changes.
Example: We block the "Games" category during the day at school, but since the category doesn't distinguish between "Educational Games" and all other types of games, I was able to go to that individual profile and individually allow/deny access to sites we needed access to or to block.
With the current setup, when running in blacklist mode it would appear that I can block additional sites that are not caught by the filter but I cannot open sites that I need access to.
Under the HTTP tab I see where I can add exceptions, but these appear to be global, not profile specific.
Is this right?
Also, when logging on to my v7.005 at home, the webadmin screen comes right up but at work the thing sits there "caching" for about 2 minutes before the webadmin gives me access to anything.
