Hi All,

I want to implement some type of HTTP Profile/Squid config so that when a user first launches their web browser and attempt to access a web site, they will be redirected to another site confirming that they agree to the internet usage policy before proceeding.

Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved?

set up a webserver hosts this informational page and push it as home to the clients (via group policy or sim.) - then any open of the browser brings up this page; then the user can go to a own favorite or type a url to go anywhere else...

Group policy only applies to IE settings so users on Firefox won't see it.

so u have to find a way to control ff environment - sure there are tools or scripts, conf file or regkeys...

I don't know if either of these will work, but you may want to look into a couple of links I found:

Group Policy control of FF through custom ADM templates. Be careful of what version of FF that a template was designed to work with. An ADM for FFv1 may or may not work with v2 depending on whether of not the registry settings have changed.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I want this to work through Astaro http profiles or a change to the Squid config. Rather than deploy all these tools and settings for a range of browsers it would be easier if it can be controlled through the one thing everyone uses with their web browser - the transparent proxy.
