We are moving from a Novell BorderManager/Surfcontrol setup to a pair of ASG 425s for our web surfing/content filtering. BorderManager loaded the Surfcontrol content database into memory (900mb) and was incredibly fast at processing user requests (approx 600 users). I'm finding the 425s unbelievably slow in comparison and was wondering now that Astaro is using Surfcontrol for content filtering if there has been any thought to moving the database locally? I know the "slowness" is caused by the URL lookups. I've had Astaro tech support look at the 425 config so I know it's fine. Has anybody heard anything about the database moving local?
