I realise there have been many posts regarding this issue, however, I thought I would start another one because I'm at wit's end!
After the upgrade from 7.003 -> 7.004 I'm seeing caching stop intermittently in transparent mode. The cache has not crashed. From other posts this would appear to be due to one of two things:
- Revised directives in squid.conf in 7.004 for large objects
- Faulty INPUT filter rules causing the firewall to block the cache from itself
I've reconfigured Squid as per directives from Astaro technical support to no avail. Hence my only other option is that there must be a cron'd job somewhere on the ASG that is reloading/loading firewall rule(s) from time to time and including an incorrect one.
Does anyone have a workaround/fix for this?
Where can I look on the ASG for a potential fix?
I've looked at/tried Exception Lists?
Should I create a new proxy profile and filter assignment?
Does the Transparent Mode Skiplist apply only to source addresses (the manual is vague)?
IMHO the cache should just work in transparent mode with default settings ... but it doesn't. So my only option at this point is to just disable the HTTP Proxy.
Apparently 7.005 will "fix some issues". Who knows what ... but this issue has dogged me for over four weeks.
Any help or guidance greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
James
