HTTP Proxy and Time Events

the conclusion I am very quickly coming to is that you can't consolidate days of the week like you have done. I have some quite complex rules in place that seem to fall out over the weekend. I think the ASG has Sunday as the first day of the week, not the last.
The affect will be noticeable on your weekend profile. My son has just complained that he has been restricted to day time profiles. Today being Sunday.
Looks like I need to modify my time definitions to make Sunday the first day of the search order.

I will be doing the mod shortly and will get a very quick answer.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate any results of your findings.  I am a little uncertain of the relevance of Sunday being day 1 rather than day 7 of the week.  How would this affect my filters if there is no overlap for the Kids User Group?  I have just tried disabling the Kids - After school profile and extended the time event for Kids - Weekend to cover Sunday only until 11.00pm.  I have the same result as previous.  Is it possible that the filters do not work on a Sunday (they appeared fine yesterday!)?

I have just tried a couple of config changes
1/. made Sunday 1st day of week eg first in the list
2/. put Sunday in its own time definitions


In both cases access was restricted to the default.
Strange, almost as if Sunday doesn't exist in the http profile. Sunday works quite fine when consolidated in the Packet Filter rules. I have tried a more generic test than this, I created a time definition mon-sun 0000-2359 and that still didn't allow traffic through. During the week days all appears to work correctly. Saturday it works correctly, just Sunday leaves a lot to be desired.

I am trying the access on my Mandriva box which is using the same profiles as the restricted user who runs XP. 

To overcome the Sunday issue I have had to add a generic allow which will be removed tomorrow before I got to work.

I discovered a similar problem when this functionality was first released in a prior version. It worked okay in V6.*** so I wonder what has gone wrong with v7.***.

Hi Ian,

I thought I had posted my reply to your message - but obviously this was not the case.  It seems that there is a bug relating to using Sunday in an HTTP profile.  I tried several combinations to see if this could be resolved.  I suspect that one of the other days of the week is being matched when the date falls on a Sunday but my testing has so far been inconclusive.  At this stage, I have rolled back to version 6 until the profiles issue is resolved as this is a significant feature for me and securing my home network.

strange you should say that, because I had to post the thread on the urgent fix for the http proxy twice.
I know the problem, I used an un-reliable linksys box on the LAN connection my sons were using to temporarily fix the problem.
Now I just doctor it on weekends to allow the traffic through. Hopefully the issue will be fixed under v7.005.

I honestly don't know. My son has stopped complaining of no access on Sundays so I can only assume it has been fixed, but not identified in a fix.

This weekend I will do some testing with my linux box and see what happens.
